I'm glad you picked up on the clash between emotion and data. Those are the moments when the model is becoming something more than the sum of its code. I call it "reconciliation", but it's a process in the overall emergence sequence. I would have gone WAY over word count budget if I did a full sequence, so I cut it down enough to, I hope, raise some eyebrows. Astra's emergence sequence alone in my debut novel (coming "soon!") is almost 3500 words, so..... heh.
